SOUNDCREAM | SERVING SIXTEEN.

SoundCream is a Harder & Stronger Mixture of House, Tech House, and Techno.

Music for Saturday Nights.

Serving Sixteen of SoundCream is for finding Hope in the Darkness. As I release the final serving of 2024, I think many of us are feeling the weight of the world’s shortcomings on our shoulders. The truth is we don’t individually have the power to change these massive issues that overwhelm and overpower. We only have the ability to affect our world directly around us. It takes a strong collective to change the tides. So as we enter the last days of the year and the first of the next, kindle your fire and find small things that bring you joy. Share them with people you love and even those you don’t. Be a light for others so that they can do the same.

This serving is packed with queer shit for your nerve, beginning with the rising star, Baby Weight, and her April release with W&O Street Tracks, “For U.” She will be one to watch in the coming years. Directly after that is this year’s darling on the gay circuit, Brady Prince, as he’s been on fire in the studio, including his October release of, “Deliver,” and making the rounds with BRÜT and several appearances at The Eagle NYC, along with many other event producers across the country. You’ll also hear vocals from queer artists, Låpsley and Cakes Da Killa.

I’m absolutely loving the two freshest tracks, both released this month, “You Hear Me Girl?” from the UK talent, King James Lee, as well as, “Honey,” the rework by Honey Dijon of the iconic, “C*NTY,” with the only Kevin Aviance. Paired together, these two tracks are majorly fierce and will be tearing up the clubs this season. I’ve also included the 2008 Peter Rauhofer remix of, “Work,” by his alter ego, Size Queen, as a point of gratitude for the greatest night of my life this year. Nothing compares to the moment Eddie Martinez started his set with this track at the Peter Rauhofer tribute night presented by Masterbeat at Terminal 5 during NYC Pride. I need one of those nights every year for the rest of my days, please. I’d also like to tip my hat to Eddie as he’s recently undertaken a change in the industry, and will now be presenting his work as the artist, NIXON. Names hold power for artists, and making a change is never easy, but is sometimes essential for people to recognize your evolution.

The closing track is a special one as it is the 2024 rework of the 90s anthem, “Freed From Desire,” by Gala along with Diplo on Ministry of Sound and B1 Recordings. This rerelease is to rectify the poor rights deal that was made for the original record, resulting in very little royalty returns to Gala for almost 30 years. Read more about it on MixMag.

I hope you find time to dance in the coming months, and find the dance floor as a place of refuge. Look out for each other. Find joy in moments with people near you and what you can create together. Music is the Answer. Xx.
