SoundCream by DavidXDaisy is a bubbly mixture of house, tech house, grooves, and tunes to move you.
SuperSoundCream Deux is for me. It is for knowing what I can do, and not backing down from what I want. It is for making moves, playing grooves, and pushing forward. It is for stepping into my light and letting the music play.
This set is a celebration of 33 of my favorite tracks from the SoundCream series of the last two years to mark my next lap around the sun. Playing across four decks simultaneously, this SuperSoundCream is a harmonic, condensed, concentrated version of everything I love in house and tech house. It also represents what it sounds like in my head all the time. Since I was a child, I’ve always had a strong reaction to particular sounds and noise clutter. In a room full of chatter, I hear every conversation in a very uncomfortable way. In severe cases, it creates a fight or flight response, which is the key element of a condition called misophonia. In most cases, I choose flight for fear that I may choose fight instead. I think that is why I gravitate to clubs so much. It’s a place where one well-curated sound rises above the rest and I can think clearly. So as you listen to this set, you will hear that it is not entirely cohesive at points before it all comes back together in unexpectedly perfect ways. I like to think that’s also a good representation of who I am.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Danny Tenaglia’s, “Music is the Answer,” I created an 8-beat delayed, four-deck version of this iconic track where all decks meet back on the same beat as an intro before, “In The Pocket,” by Mark Knight. You will obviously be hearing a lot of Knight in this mix as he marks the 20th anniversary of Toolroom Records, both of which have been a massive inspiration to me and so many across the world.
