Serving TwentyTwo of SoundCream is for the Blessings of Angels & Demons. It is for the veil between worlds as it becomes its thinnest of the year. It is for recognizing what you can learn and leave from your light and dark. It is for hearing what calls you beyond view and trusting your instincts during quite peculiar times.
This may be the freshest serving of the year with almost all IDs having been released in the past five months. First up is a dedication to the memory of the Minister of Sound and Chicago House Legend, Ron Carroll, with this year’s rework collaboration of the iconic 2000s hit, “Lucky Star.” Carroll passed away on Sept. 21, 2025, and leaves a legacy of one of the most signature voices in house music. He has been a common thread in my SoundCream releases and I am planning to do a special feature of his discography this spring for High Church: Revival. Thank you for lifting us up, Ron.
The most recent ID you’ll hear is from one of my favorite artists to watch right now, Gina Breeze, with “Feel Me” from her latest EP, Love 4 U, released on Southern Fried Records on October 3. Breeze’s work in the studio this year has continued to be a highlight for me and I look forward to her continued success. Right next to that was the Oct. 2 release of “Lose My Mind,” the hot UKG collaboration by Champion, Crookers, and Interplanetary Criminal that has been doing major damage on the festival circuit. You’ve also got a good dose of Odd Mob for his signature remix sound that continues to fuel his skyrocket to the top.
Major shoutout as well to NYC’s Sailey Williams (Madame 007) and Le Grand Phoenix for bringing the queer, Black nightlife energy with “Fire Femme” in the Tom Peters Berlinciagay Bananarama Mix, and there will be more on that later. Stay tuned.
