SOUNDCREAM | SERVING TWENTYFOUR.

SoundCream is a Harder & Stronger Mix of House, Tech House, and Techno.

Music for Saturday Nights.

Serving TwentyFour of SoundCream is for the Winter Solstice. Our darkest day of the year is a time for release and rebirth as longer days return on their arc toward the light of spring.

Since July 2021, SoundCream has served as my monthly release and therapy session to dive deeper into the music that moves me as a means of evolving as an artist. It has also been a measured process, shaping my music library slowly over time as I’ve sharpened my taste and focused on sharing the freshest dance music. As I complete my first major life project this year and find circles tying themselves neatly together, it is time for the next great arc to begin. With it comes necessary change to make space for the work ahead as I prepare for the renaissance of DavidXDaisy.

Beginning with this serving, SoundCream will be shifting to a quarterly schedule to align with the solstices and equinoxes that guide me and will feature fifteen excellent selections. SoundCream will release with the solstices and SoundCream Light with the equinoxes.

We open with “Renaissance” by Paolo Buonvino, featuring the entrancing vocals of Skin, from the score of Medici: Masters of Florence. This music set the tone for my shift this fall as I began planning what comes next for me, and it speaks strongly to where my head has been these past five years.

The freshest ID you’ll hear is especially meaningful, as it comes from Greg Scarnici, one of the few creatives to whom I relate. His Nov. 28 release, “Fever Dream,” on Interboro Records, was the final missing piece of this puzzle when it landed in my inbox. It appears here as part of a double feature of Scarnici’s work, alongside “I Believe.” Greg and his alter ego, Levonia, have inspired me since college, and I most admire how he exemplifies continued growth and a make-it-happen approach across his full drawer of abilities.

Next are the two Oct. 24 releases “Gotta Keep On” by Earth n Days and “Roll” by Brady Prince. Prince continues to be one to watch as he fully steps into his moment on the national stage. Notably, he will open the Sunday night crescendo of Winter Party, produced by Masterbeat and featuring Sagi Kariv. Another standout for me is one of this year’s biggest bangers, “Cheeky,” by Karsten Sollors and Return of the Jaded, which earned them a spot on Experts Only this summer. We love to see it.

I will also begin sharing more about my color story selections for the artwork. As a minimalist in digital design, compared with my maximalist personal style, there may not seem to be much to explain, but color is one of my strongest skills and is always chosen intentionally. The colors are drawn from the particularly inspiring art of the anime Demon Slayer, specifically the eyes of Doma and his ice-based Blood Demon Art. I primarily watch animation and period dramas, as I do not find the modern real world all that interesting. The immense global success of Demon Slayer’s theatrical release, Infinity Castle, this year further cemented anime’s cultural impact and its relevance to the future of media. With the shift in the release schedule, I wanted to reflect that change in the art by reintroducing the disco ball from the DaisyTech mix series as a representation of the sun repeated four times to underscore the seasonal significance.

Yuletide greetings and solstice blessings. May hope rise with the sun. Enjoy.
