Serving Nineteen of SoundCream is for Dreams of Summer. It is for accepting the reality surrounding you, and choosing to step through the looking glass ahead. It is for leaving behind what no longer serves you and keeping your North Star in full view. 

This serving is fresh af with several major releases I must highlight. We begin with an artist I heard by way of Japan. As I was checking out of a hotel in Osaka, I noticed my heel doing the involuntary tap signaling my attention caught elsewhere. I followed the sound to a speaker with low volume playing an instant must-have. Later on the Shinkansen, I was introduced to the sound of Brazilian DJ/producer, nocapz. It was the title track of his More Love EP released with Hot Creations this past December that hooked me and is included in Nineteen. I’ve also opened this set with, “Gettin’ Heard,” from the same EP. Clearly, I’m a fan. 

The freshest ID you will hear is also my favorite this month. “Loving is Living,” by Yousef, featuring Kuuda, strikes a very specific cord for me, creating a serotonin dump sensation I have not had a song do for me in quite some time. I can remember stumbling across it one night in bed and leaping up immediately to go find its place in this serving. It pairs perfectly with the March 28 release of, “Forget,” by DJ Minx. I hope you experience half of what I feel when those two outstanding productions blend. And if you don’t, that’s on you honey. 

I must highlight the smooth style of Byron the Aquarius for “The Recipe,” featuring Lyric Jones & DJ Tabone, released in March on his own label, TALKNOI$E Records. You can catch this Birmingham native at Movement Festival in Detroit this Memorial Day Weekend. I’ve closed Ninenteen with another powerful production by the rising major artist to watch, Matt Guy, “Jaded Memory,” as he embarks on his debut US tour this summer. Enjoy.
